My Why

One thing I’ve always heard from all these professional development speakers is you have to have a strong "WHY". Why do you want what you want so bad? What is it that drives you each day to live the life you have always dreamed of?

My why are my children. It might sound cliché but honestly, they are the driving force in my life. On my worst days they make me a better person because when I choose to give up on myself or my business, they are a reminder that I have to keep on going.
It is not easy…. I choose to work from home and homeschool my 6-year-old. Which is tough right now especially since my daughter who is 11 months old doesn’t understand why she can’t be held every second and coddled while I’m trying to give my son one on one attention. Then on the other hand I have my son complaining about school and as to why I can’t just give him the answers as opposed to him working and finding out the solution on his own. My husband God bless his soul he takes me on my worst day as good as he takes me on my best day. He doesn’t expect much, and he is truly sincere. He believes in me sometimes more than I believe in myself. When I say, "you know what it’s easier for me to just go back to work". He says, "now you know that won’t make you happy…you got this…keep going". I am truly grateful for him and how he takes care of our family.

Working from home can feel like a blessing and a curse. On one hand you get to work in the comfort of your home, no commute, and not having to deal with the workplace drama. On the other hand, you can feel lonely, mentally drained and just plain old frustrated when your business is not thriving the way you would like or expect it to.
So here is where that "WHY" kicks in, here is when you decide to either go back to the rat race (work) or work so hard on your dreams that you have no other options but to make it. Your why depends on you just as much as you depend on being your best for them.

So, I choose to show up I may not always be at my absolute best, but I will try, I will strive, and I will do my best. When I feel like throwing in the towel, I will look at my "WHY" and give thanks to God and keep working towards my business goals. No one is going to build for me what I want for myself. Each day is a learning experience and if I have breath in my body, I need to use that breathe to do something with meaning in my life because each day is a gift from God. I am not just wife and mom. I am a business women who has goals and who chooses to take each day and do something that takes my business to the next level. So do something that your future self will say "that was an excellent choice". I know I am.
